Principal Electrical Design Engineer - Motor Controls
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Control Systems, you will take on an integral role in designing, developing, and optimizing advanced control systems for our automation product line. With a solid foundation in low-voltage electrical engineering and circuit design, you will be responsible for creating innovative control board solutions utilizing FPGAs, CPUs, and other cutting-edge technologies.
This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and provides opportunities to influence Automation product direction and market impact.

responsibilities:
- Lead design, development, and modification of control boards, focusing on low-voltage electrical circuits, power management, and signal processing.
- Utilize simulation tools for modeling circuit behavior to validate designs and ensure optimal performance.
- Integrate control boards with system components, working closely with firmware and software teams to achieve seamless functionality.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, firmware developers, and project managers, communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Oversee project feasibility, cost analysis, and justification, preparing plans and schedules to ensure timely project execution.
- Spearhead initiatives focused on product standardization, cost reduction, and cycle time improvements.
- Review and ensure product compliance with automation and industry standards, developing strategies to achieve certification when necessary.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers, conduct training, and review the work of designers and less experienced engineers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; a Master's or Ph.D. is preferred.
- 8-12 years of experience in board design and electrical systems, with expertise in VHDL, Verilog, C/C++, and Python for control systems programming.
- Proficiency in CAD, PDM, and circuit simulation software.
