Warehouse Receiving Supervisor

Responsible for the day to day operations of receiving and stocking product. Oversees entry of received product; maintains various log books. The receiving supervisor will support the day warehouse manager, with daily operational improvements; to include inventory management and order processing.

This position is Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Responsibilities:

You will:

  • Supervise receiving and maintain a safe and functional department.
  • Assume responsibility that all merchandise is entered, checked and stocked according to procedures.
  • Be responsible for scheduling appointments to receive goods by various carriers.
  • Be responsible for recording manually reassigned locations in the put away log.
  • Print receivers daily.
  • Maintain contact with purchasing, order processors, customer service and sales departments regarding merchandise activities.
  • Ensure all proper procedures are followed through by staff. Provide guidance and direction to employees in the interpretation and administration of receiving policies and procedures.
  • Train, direct, and motivate employees to assure a stable and competent department.
  • Oversee inspections of material handling equipment are being reported for any mechanical issues; responsible for contacting vendor to ensure repair and maintenance of material handling equipment.
  • Follow and ensure warehouse safety and housekeeping procedures are followed through by staff.
  • Maintain valid OSHA, EPA, and DOT certifications if required.
  • Be responsible for reassigning locations to stock when auto put away is full, incorrectly sized, etc.
  • Turn in shipping manifest, receiver and put away list to accounts payable daily.

Qualifications:

You have:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of receiving experience
  • Previous management experience (distribution environment preferred).
  • 2 years of warehouse experience
  • Cherry Picker experience preferred
  • Stand-Up/Sit-Down Forklift experience preferred
  • Electric Pallet Jack experience preferred
  • Ability to pull 2200 lbs using a pallet jack and pull or push 200 lbs using a two-wheeler.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to learn American Osment products and services.
