Polysomnography Technician, Full Time- Night
Job Description:
Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital as a Polysomnography Technician in the Sleep department. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.
Under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor of Neurophysiology, performs all types of Polysomnography including routine PSGs, CPAPs, MSLTs, and technical data analysis of each test.

Observes and adheres to all corporate compliance requirements and communicates issues as they arise to the appropriate personnel as identified in the Corporate Compliance Plan.
Essential Job Functions- Collaborates closely with physicians to assess, design, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the patients’ plan of care and the patients’ outcomes
- Demonstrates the necessary skills and knowledge to provide complex nursing skills and delegates tasks to other Care Team members according to unit specific competencies as appropriate to the age of the patients served as delineated in the Patient Care Centers Scope of Care
- Responsible for and monitors the quality of patient care and patient satisfaction
- Accurately and independently pursues professional development opportunities
- Assumes responsibility to assure the daily operations of the Patient Care Center are effectively and efficiently maintained
- Works within the accepted service standards and supports the Vision of Ingalls Hospital
- Works in partnership with other patient care team members and pro-actively identifies and provides for individual patient, family, and physicians needs exceeding their expectations, and employing appropriate customer relations
- Knows, follows and actively supports the philosophy, mission and Vision of Ingalls Hospital
- Adheres to all hospital policies, procedures and standards of care
- Observes and adheres to all corporate compliance requirements and communicates issues as they arise to the appropriate parties as identified in the Corporate Compliance Plan
- Preferably an Associate/Bachelor of Arts or Associate/Bachelor of Science Degree, or equivalent, completed or in progress
- Registered Polysomnography Technologist, or planning on completing registration within 90 days. Upon completion of requirements to receive Registered status, the employee’s professional title will be changed to Polysomnography Technologist
- Basic computer proficiency
- Effective verbal and written communication, including ability to communicate with other cultures or those with language or cognitive impairments
- Ability to choose appropriate tests and protocols based on clinical status and/or situations
- Professional minded & ambitious to expand professional duties/abilities
- Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- One year of healthcare experience in a related field in Sleep
- Job Type/FTE: Full-Time, 12-hour shifts

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity.Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
