The US Entities Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. This position involves leading the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, implementing and maintaining internal controls, and collaborating with other departments to support overall business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises: 4-5 Accountants Full-time in-office
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor budget variances and provide explanations for discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with department heads to gather relevant budget information.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal control procedures.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement measures to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Provide recommendations for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
  • Analyze financial trends and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors during annual audits.
  • Prepare audit schedules and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.
  • Address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors to prepare and file tax returns.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity to meet operational needs.
  • Monitor and analyze banking activities and reconcile bank statements.
  • Optimize cash management processes to maximize efficiency.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3-5 years excellent Supervisory/Management experience of other accountants.
  • Must have also demonstrated past ability to build a professional accounting team working well together.
  • Must have 3-5 years or more experience of full oversight/responsibility preparing and closing monthly and annual US financial statements, including all the follow-up US tax return prep-work. (We do have outside Tax CPA’s but need to understand their requests and documentation requirements).
  • Deep robust Accounting System Experience working with more than one US entity, prefer total $50M+/- annual revenue or higher.
  • Spanish Speaking is preferred but not mandatory
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in an Accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Sage Intacct Accounting System Experience
  • MS Power BI experience or similar data analysis experience
  • Prior Start-Up company experience or prior company with rapid growth is preferred
