Litigation Paralegal

An established Oakland law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal with expertise in Class Action lawsuits to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage complex, multi-party litigation and assist attorneys throughout all stages of class action lawsuits, from discovery through trial.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support attorneys in handling Class Action litigation, including coordinating and managing large volumes of discovery and case materials.
• Draft and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs in state and federal courts.
• Oversee discovery processes, including document production, interrogatories, depositions, and electronic discovery (ESI).
• Organize trial preparation materials, including trial exhibits, witness lists, and case summaries.
• Communicate with class members, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Conduct legal research and prepare comprehensive case summaries, reports, and timelines.
• Assist attorneys in settlement preparation and mediation sessions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal with a focus on Class Action litigation.
• Strong knowledge of California state and federal court procedures, including e-filing systems.
• Proficiency in managing ESI and document review platforms, such as Relativity, Concordance, or Summation.
• Experience in handling multi-party discovery and trial preparation.
• Expertise in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
