National Health Care Associates, provider of high-quality long-term care and short-term rehabilitation services with a growing portfolio of skilled nursing facilities in the Northeast U.S, is experiencing significant growth and seeking a specialist in healthcare budget and reimbursement to join our team at our corporate office in Valley Stream, on the border of Queens and Nassau County.

What You'll Do:

Responsibilities and Duties

This position will be responsible for budgeting at a number of locations, as well as managing/coordinating all third-party reimbursement functions, including but not limited to:

  • Work with our Accounting firms to coordinate the process of preparing and submitting annual Medicare, Medicaid and State statistical reports
  • Collaborate with corporate and facility staff with respect to developing our annual operating and capital budgets
  • Conduct performance reviews of financial results, compared to budgeted expectations
  • Work with State officials/delegates related to Medicaid/Medicare cost report audits, third party rate reviews and appeals.
  • Managed/coordinate Certificate of Need process, related to capital projects.
  • Perform all qualitative/quantitative analysis, as needed, related to capital acquisitions.

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
  • 5-10 years Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing, Hospital/Health System or Home Care Accounting experience preferred. Candidates coming from other industries who possess strong cost accounting experience will be considered
  • Healthcare Provider- Side Budgeting experience preferred
  • Nursing Home Cost Reporting, 3rd Party reimbursement rates (Medicare, Medicaid) preferred
  • Strong Qualitative and Quantitative skills
  • Knowledge of cost accounting and principles would be a big plus
  • Thorough working knowledge of Excel
  • Data analytics, financial statements
