Position Summary:

The Financial Analyst II position in the Office of Finance and Planning at the School of Global Public Health provides day-to-day financial administration and management support for the School. This position also plays an important role in supporting key functional processes within the Finance Office such as the annual budget planning cycle, the Annual Merit program, and the development and upload of the School’s departmental budgets.

Qualifications:

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education:

Master's Degree Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience working in Higher Education

Required Experience:

3+ years Relevant experience with analysis and reconciliation of large, complex accounts or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience: 5+ years Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work with individuals at all levels. Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently and effectively. Must maintain professionalism, good judgment, and discretion when dealing with confidential datasets.

Must possess a strong grasp and familiarity with key business and financial concepts and tools (e.g. budgets, operating expenses, capital expenses, financial statements). Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel is required.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Familiarity with UDW+, procurement tools (such as i-Buy and Concur), PeopleSoft, FAME (the University's general ledger system), Hyperion Essbase/Smartview, and data visualization tools such as Tableau.

Additional Information:
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $80,000.00 to USD $100,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
