Entry-Level Highway Engineer
Overview:
Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking entry-level Highway/Roadway Engineers to join our team in Toledo, OH!
Our design engineering professionals undertake projects ranging in all sizes and complexities, providing conceptual planning, alignment studies, and preparing contract documents for construction of improvements to local and county roadway networks, and state and interstate highways.We develop alternative improvement plans to balance project costs with other factors including environmental, utility and property impacts.
Responsibilities:
- Acquire knowledge and develop basic skills in a specific practice area.
- Apply learned techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
- Demonstrate the ability to prepare low-level complexity general engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
- Assist with other project related tasks such as permit applications, material testing, drawings and CAD work.
- Exercise judgement on details of work and work under direct supervision on all aspects of tasks assigned.
- Work within AutoCAD Civil 3D to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
- EIT (Engineer In Training) preferred.
- Increasing proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, principles and practices.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
