About Our Client

We are a premier mechanical contractor in the Danbury, CT area, with a focus on high-quality piping and mechanical systems. Our projects range from large-scale industrial piping systems to sophisticated mechanical installations for commercial clients.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator with a strong background in piping to join our team and contribute to our continued success.

Job Description
  • Prepare detailed estimates for piping and mechanical systems, including material takeoffs, labor costs, and equipment pricing.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to accurately assess project scope and requirements.
  • Work closely with the project management team to ensure that estimates align with project goals and timelines.
  • Analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing and select the most cost-effective and reliable options.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Assist in bid presentations, negotiations, and project buyouts.
  • Provide support in value engineering and alternative solutions to reduce project costs.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.

The Successful Applicant
  • 7+ years of experience as a mechanical estimator, with a focus on piping systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical piping systems, materials, and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools (such as Quickpen, FastPIPE, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
