Sr. Director of Operations
Overview:
The Senior Director of Operations oversees and manages all aspects of the logistics services provided to each customer account. This position will oversee and manage larger labor groups across a variety of states. This is a senior-level role typically responsible for large customer accounts or multiple accounts across a geographic area with combined revenues typically in excess of $30 million.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing large or multiple customer accounts across a geographic region.
- Manage budgeting, financial planning and cost control for operations by evaluating processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing necessary changes.
- Monitor P&L monthly and make necessary adjustments to sustain profitability.
- Assists in new business sales, contract renewals and pricing.
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of professionals. Responsibilities include hiring, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a high performing department. Assist site managers with development/mentoring opportunities.
- Manages implementation, project management, system administration and assists in customer growth opportunities.
- Establishes and manages key KPIs, internal and external, that can be measured and monitored to determine success and alignment with the customer’s goals and/or needs.
- Add or remove goals challenging the operation to better serve the customer.
- Drive innovation initiatives to stay ahead of industry trends and customer needs, implementing innovative technologies and optimizing resources for customer retention and continued growth. Create a culture of continuous quality improvement and maintain reporting of improvement actions.
- Cultivate strong business relationships with customers by providing data supported analytics to direct clear understanding of current situation and drive information to support CI opportunities.
- Conduct current operational best practices reviews to assist in innovative development and CI.
- Hold team accountable for execution of internal and external commitments.
- Review and interact with sales team to drive business unit growth.
- Responsible for Carrier procurement and Carrier Management
- Assist with the analytics, design, and implementation/onboarding of new accounts.
- Assist with implementation of productivity improvements (Six Sigma, 5S)
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of distribution services, automation, and value-added services.
- Effective communication skills, problem solving abilities and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to maintain consistent, high-level operating metrics and service levels across multiple locations.
- Proficiency in TMS and other relevant software preferred.
- Good negotiation skills and contracting/procurement experience.
- Detail oriented with strong multi-tasking skills, ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office: WMS, LMS, Excel, Word, Power Point, Access
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office: WMS, LMS, Excel, Word, Power Point, AccessA. or equivalent in finance or Transportation, Logistics, Business Administration or related area or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 7 years of related experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership position within a Corporate Office setting.
- Demonstrated management and leadership experience.

Pay Range: $104,874.00-174,990.00Pay Grade: 14
