***Candidates must be senior (10+ years) MicroStrategy consultants with Five (5) years or more MicroStrategy Schema Development, Report Development, Dashboards and Visualizations.
This position provides specialized technical expertise associated with the MicroStrategy suite of tools within a data warehousing/business intelligence/analytics environment.
This resource will perform a variety of job functions, including, but not limited to: project leadership, business requirements analysis, data analysis, data modeling, development architecture and naming standards, MicroStrategy administration, schema and reports/visualizations development.Other key functions also include business support, testing (unit, System, and user acceptance testing support), integration, tool performance testing, scalability, design documentation, administration support, migration planning, upgrades and implementation planning.
Role Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering or related experience
- Five (5) years or more experience in Business Intelligence. Database, and ETL Development
- Five (5) years or more experience working with SQL performance and optimization
- Five (5) years or more experience working with large data structures
- Five (5) years or more MicroStrategy Schema Development, Report Development, Dashboards and Visualizations. MicroStrategy administration is a plus.
- Three (3) years or more experience in Production Support
Other Requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing relevant technology, tools, and middleware
- Proficient in a variety of technologies supporting the full software development life cycle, including analysis, design, development, installation, support and modification preferred
- Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
- Ability to prioritize work assignments and manage delivery schedules
- Ability to work independently on multiple projects end to end with minimal to no guidance
- Ability to operate as part of cross-functional project team
- Strong problem-solving and application control validation skills
- Excellent SQL skills
- Strong data modeling knowledge
- Sound organizational and task management skills
- Demonstrate expertise with ETL tools (intermediate level)
- Knowledge of project management (intermediate level)
- Strong knowledge of business analysis techniques
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate and execute project activities to ensure timely completion
- Participate in project requirements and status meetings with other IT members, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure project deliverables meet business requirements
- Interview end users to determine requirements for data, reports, analysis, metadata, training, service levels, data quality, and performance
- Create estimates and translate requirements into an appropriate reporting design and solution
- Meet with the business to discuss project status and issues
- Perform code reviews to identify basic technical and logical errors
- Identify and optimize poorly performing reports
- Identify conflicting business practices and integration issues and suggest alternative solutions
- Work closely with Microstrategy and other project team members to identify and understand source systems to meet business requirements
- Convert business/functional requirements into a working solution
- Foster and maintain good relationships with customers and IT colleagues in efforts to meet expected customer service levels
- Share responsibility with other team members to ensure on-time product delivery or satisfactory application development and/or support
- Collect, document metadata, and follow company metadata standards and maintain accuracy of design documentation.
- Provide end user support on break fixes, solution enhancements, and MicroStrategy tool support
- Participate in software upgrade activities if/as needed
- Work alongside more junior level developers to develop solutions
- Perform other duties as assigned
