The front office receptionist serves as the first point of contact for students, families, and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. This role is responsible for managing front desk operations, handling phone and voicemail communications, overseeing visitor entry procedures, and supporting school staff with administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced school setting.

Responsibilities

Front Office Management
  • Ensure the front office remains consistently staffed and attended from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with coverage coordinated as needed.
  • Greet and welcome families, students, and visitors in a warm, professional, and friendly manner.
  • Maintain an organized, tidy, and professional reception area while ensuring confidentiality and discretion.
Communication, Administrative Support, Professionalism & School Environment
  • Serve as the primary contact for answering and directing all incoming calls in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Oversee visitor check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring adherence to school security protocols. Assist the Front Office Manager with student sign-in and sign-out procedures through the attendance system.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, attention to detail, and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a positive and proactive approach when assisting families, students, and staff.
  • Uphold school policies and procedures while ensuring a welcoming and inclusive front office experience.
Qualifications
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar).
  • A positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
  • 1–3 years of administrative or customer service experience, preferably in a school or educational setting. Bilingual skills (preferred but not required).
