Staff Accountant

We are offering a unique opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the non-profit industry. Located in Ottawa Hills, Ohio, this role involves handling various accounting duties and requires a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the processing of weekly and monthly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees
- Manage vendor payables, ensuring all payments are made in a timely and accurate manner
- Prepare monthly financial reports, providing detailed insights into the organization's financial status
- Maintain member giving records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate
- Handle weekly and monthly ACH transactions, ensuring all transactions are processed correctly
- Prepare and make bank deposits, ensuring all deposits are made promptly
- Administer the organization's medical, dental, and vision health plan, ensuring all aspects are managed effectively
- Prepare supporting documents for select church committees, providing detailed and accurate information
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax reports, ensuring all reporting requirements are met
- Prepare special reports and analyses as required, providing detailed insights into specific financial aspects of the organization. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Oracle, QuickBooks, NetSuite, and SAP
- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
- Knowledge and experience in performing Bank Reconciliations
- Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and Journal Entries
- Ability to handle Month End Close activities effectively
- Prior experience working in the Non-Profit sector will be considered an advantage
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information responsibly
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to adhering to all organizational policies and regulations
- Willingness to continue learning and improving accounting skills.
