The State of New Hampshire, Department of Environmental Services, Water Division, Wetlands Bureau has a part time vacancy for a Mitigation Monitoring Specialist.
Summary:
Provides wetlands science expertise in the support of activities coordinated through the Aquatic Resource Mitigation (ARM) Fund program. Assist with technical evaluation, monitoring, and tracking the ecological success of restoration and land conservation activities in ARM to support the programs mission to sustain the functions and values of New Hampshires aquatic resources.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Education:
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in a related environmental science. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience:
One year of experiences as an Environmentalist or in a field related to the occupational area in which the vacancy exists, such as air analysis, noise or water quality control, engineering, environmental law, wildlife, forestry, soils, hydrology, geology, botany or biology.
License/Certification:
Eligibility for N.H. driver's license to facilitate performance of professional field work.
License / Certification:
Must possess a valid drivers license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Knowledge of restoration and monitoring practices, wetlands, or soil science. Knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to restoration and/or wetlands science. Experience with conducting field surveys, collecting data, and using GIS including entering and interpreting data. Ability to interpret maps, data, and engineering plans. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely in oral, written, and graphic form.
Candidates must have strong customer relations and facilitation skills.
