General Description

Install, support, and maintain the Palo Alto suite of products. In a senior capacity, the engineer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of security infrastructure systems and equipment.

This position will be involved in both remote and on-site troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

Maintain security devices and upgrade, as needed

Providing support for other engineers on Palo Alto equipment/software

Work alongside in-house staff in the capacity of senior network security engineer

Serve as an escalation point to resolve complex Palo Alto issues

Document and design new installation replacement rollouts from Cisco to Palo Alto

Pro-actively review and maintain client infrastructure

Respond to emergency situations and perform expert troubleshooting during

production outages

Working remotely or onsite as per business requirements

Experience/Skills:

Hands on knowledge and experience installing and supporting Palo Alto Security Appliances (minimum five years)

Experience managing and configuring the Cisco ASA platform.

Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer 7-8 (PCNSE7-8) certification

preferred.

Intimate knowledge with design of physical infrastructure (power, fiber, OOB, etc)

Knowledge of protocols BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, SPT, TRUNKS, VLANs, Port-Channel,

Static routing

Networking segmentation topologies and protocols. Examples being MPLS, VRF

Palo Alto and Cisco Command line interface experience (CLI)

Must have a strong networking background and understanding

A high level of Palo Alto expertise in design, configuration, migrations, tuning and

customization of features

Thorough knowledge of Panorama, WildFire, Global Protect, S2S VPN, and other Palo Alto features.

Familiarity with hosted deployments/cloud

Experience with Wireshark or other protocol analyzers

Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal

Must be flexible to work outside of business hours as per business requirements.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Network SecOps Analyst role or similar.
  • Proficient in Palo Alto Firewall and Palo Alto Networks.
  • Possession of a Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE) certification is a must.
  • Strong command over CLI (Command Line Interface).
  • In-depth knowledge of MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching).
  • High-level expertise in Network Security.
  • Proficient in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
