Accounting Clerk - Sykesville

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Clerk! In this role, you will be tasked with maintaining vendor records, processing and verifying invoices, and managing various payment cycles, all while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the processing, verification, and reconciliation of vendor invoices to ensure compliance with company standards
• Supervise weekly and monthly payment procedures, from check runs to ACH payments and wire transfers
• Keep vendor records up-to-date and address any discrepancies in invoices, pricing, and payment terms
• Liaise with suppliers to resolve any issues related to billing, disputes, and payment inquiries
• Conduct reconciliation of accounts payable transactions and keep records organized for audits
• Contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing reports and reconciling accounts
• Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and inventory teams to guarantee invoice accuracy
• Monitor expense reports, ensuring they have the proper documentation and approval
• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in accounts payable.
• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role
• Proficiency in account reconciliation and an understanding of its importance in maintaining financial accuracy
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP), including managing and tracking expenses
• Excellent data entry skills, with a focus on accuracy and speed
• Experience in invoice processing, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of advanced formulas and functions
• Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning software, demonstrating an understanding of its role in managing business operations and customer relations
