Responsibilities:
As a Senior Web Application Developer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:
- Maintain, modernize, and refactor web applications for improved scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Develop clean, efficient, and modular code following best practices in React.js, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Refactor and optimize legacy code, improving readability, reducing technical debt, and enhancing maintainability.
- Enhance data-driven applications, building dashboards, automated workflows, and visualizations.
- Optimize SQL queries and database performance while ensuring security and best practices (SQL Server and Oracle).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and implement scalable, modern solutions.
- Work within Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP, Kanban) to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote continuous improvement.
- Support decision-making through actionable reports, analytics, and data-driven insights
Qualifications:
Core Requirements:
- Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility
- Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent years of relevant experience).
- 5+ years of experience in web application development, modernization, and refactoring.
- Proficiency in React.js, Node.js, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, and SQL (SQL Server & Oracle).
- Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
- Experience in clean coding practices, including modular design, reuse, and performance optimization.
- Strong ability to analyze, refactor, and improve legacy applications.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with SQL Server or Oracle v19 for data management.
- Familiarity with ColdFusion and frameworks like ColdBox or FW/1,.
- Exposure to Python, Next.js, R, ASP.NET, or C# for full-stack development.
- Basic knowledge of Linux (RHEL) administration for system support.
- Comfort with Confluence or project collaboration tools.
- A knack for optimizing processes and improving workflows.
- Some familiarity with DevOps concepts (CI/CD, automation).
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $92,100.00/Yr. - USD $193,900.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
