What will you do?
Virscio is seeking a qualified Sample Management Associate to support sample and supply management and shipping logistics in support of commercial and internal research and development activities.
Essential Job Responsibilities- Sample Management - Support and progressively lead the receipt, QC, storage, packaging, and shipment of biological samples.
- Supply Management – Maintain lab and other facility supplies and support Logistics Manager on receipt, storage and forwarding to other company sites. Document supply receipt, use and transfer in company inventory management software.
- Sample Processing - Support the processing of biological samples to facilitate subsequent bioanalysis. Support execution of laboratory procedures such as ELISA, immunohistochemistry, cell culture, and microscopy.
- Laboratory Management - Assist in laboratory oversight of cleanliness, maintenance, and safety procedures. Support the routine and non-routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Shipping – Ensure hazardous goods are shipped in accordance with regulations regarding the handling and shipped of dangerous goods.
- Compliance – Conduct sample and supply shipping as well as sample receipt activities in accordance with IATA, FDA, US Fish & Wildlife Service, CDC, USDA or other relevant international regulations.
- SOPs - Establish in-depth knowledge of facility SOPs and contribute to their maintenance, support compliance with good laboratory practices (GLPs) and maintenance of AAALAC credentials.
- Other - Perform all other assigned duties.
- Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience with the packaging and shipment of temperature-sensitive biomedical specimens.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience performing protocol-defined scientific methodologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to learn new skills quickly.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Strong computer literacy and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working with project management and/or inventory management systems.
- Ability to lift 20-25 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to travel for work (less than 10% travel).
