A well-established firm that designs, builds and installs control systems is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer to join their team. This person be responsible for drafting electrical control diagrams, designing panel layouts, programming PLCs & HMIs, and supporting field service members during site visits/project startups.
The role also involves cost estimation for control panels, troubleshooting electrical controls, providing technical support to the Mechanical Project Engineers, and performing Factory Acceptance Tests at the panel shops. The candidate must balance priorities across the Engineering, Sales, and Service departments.

Reporting to Engineering Team Leader, the candidate will coordinate with their manager for workload priorities. Training on equipment will be provided, but prior experience in industrial control panel design and PLC programming is essential. Job Responsibilities: Lead electrical design tasks and respond to support requests from various departments; Manage and delegate tasks to meet the company's electrical objectives; Create detailed project electrical engineering submittals (circuit diagrams, BOMs, and component datasheets), including assessment of bid specification requirements and responses to meet the project's goals; Electrical Control Panel (ECP) design, utilizing AutoCAD Electrical to develop circuit diagrams and fabrication-ready control panel wiring drawings, including motor control and instrumentation integration; Program PLCs, primarily Allen Bradley RSLogix 500 and 5000, with Siemens S7, Schneider Modicon, and GE as secondary; Program HMIs, primarily focusing on Allen Bradley PanelView 800 and PanelView Plus 6, with the expectation that the candidate can learn other systems as needed; Perform ECP Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at regional panel fabrication facilities; Instrumentation integration and design.

Job Requirements: Minimum 3 years of experience in Control panel design including motor control and fabrication-ready drawing production; Minimum 3 years of experience with PLCs, HMIs, and direct, hands-on programming. Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs is a must.
Experience with other PLCs can be trained or learned; Experience in electrical control panel factory circuit testing and field troubleshooting of interconnected electrical equipment; Understanding of control circuit diagrams and development of diagrams in AutoCAD Electrical; Understanding of electrical theory including basic AC & DC motors; Proficiency using AutoCAD & AutoCAD Electrical.
