Electrical Engineering Lab Manager
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a well-organized and stocked lab, performing equipment repairs, assisting with PCB rework and cable assembly, modifying enclosures, supporting engineering tests, and operating diagnostic equipment.
2 year contract!- Education: Minimum Associate's degree in electronics or related field, or equivalent military experience (e.g., avionics technician)
- Experience:
- 4+ years in Electro/Mechanical lab management
- Proficiency in soldering/reworking Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA)
- Experience in building/reworking multiconductor cable assemblies (Power & Signal)
- Skilled in building/reworking power distribution boxes, including torque specifications, circuit breakers, bus bars, and cable harnesses
- Background in electrical engineering support, lab experiment setup, and data collection

responsibilities: Lab Maintenance and Organization- Ensure labs are stocked with tools and components.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of lab spaces.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and repairs, including environmental chambers and prototype PCB routers.
- Manage equipment check-in/check-out process and track inventory.
- Coordinate with Facilities for power, water, air, and other utility needs.
- Assist with PCB rework: through-hole, surface mount, reflow soldering.
- Perform tasks involving jumper wires, dead-bug ICs, potting/epoxy materials.
- Document all rework activities performed.
- Build and modify cables and harnesses.
- Work with connectors and components like Harting, Molex, CPC, Ring Lugs, Ferrules, DSUB, and combo DSUB connectors.
- Use proper crimping tools, shield termination techniques, and wire gauge sizing.
- Experience with coax cables and RF connectors is a plus.
- Perform 208/480VAC wiring for circuit breakers and contactors with proper torquing of connections.
- Modify enclosures for mounting components, including bulkhead connectors, internal PCBs, circuit breakers, contactors, EMOs, and panel mount LEDs.
- Utilize prototype fabrication skills (e.g., sheet metal punching, bending, drilling).
- Assist engineering teams in a variety of tests and experiments.
- Support testing with thermal/humidity chambers, test fixture builds, component cycling, and prototype builds.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, DVMs, Hi-Pot testers, DAQs, TC/RTD loggers, FLIR cameras, and solder/rework stations.
- Familiarity with 3D printing and LabVIEW programming.
