In alignment with Orlando Health and Orlando Health Medical Group Mission, Vision and Values – The Ambulatory Quality Director, under the direction of the Service Line AVP and OHMG Chief Clinical Officer, coordinatesthe development, implementation and evaluation of the overall performance, quality improvement program.

The overall goal isto enhance the quality of patient management, satisfaction, to promote continuity of care and cost effectiveness through the integrating functions of care and cost effectiveness through care coordination, case management, utilization review and quality management.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrates a high degree of leadership, initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organization
objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with OHMG leadership to develop and implement Service Line specific as well as OHMG wide strategic
plan for quality goals, standards, and metrics.
  • Works with the leadership team to develop a culture and practice environment that embraces quality and patient safety and isin
compliance with the requirements of the various regulatory agencies.
  • Educate and communicate all OHMG leaders and staff on quality initiatives and direction.
  • Provides ongoing support and expertise in quality managementreporting and action plan design.
  • Act as a liaison between Population Health, Physicians and OHMG leadership to ensure member and care issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborates with peers across Orlando Health to assure their understanding of the PI process and to assure reporting of appropriate quality indicators based on the organization’sfocus.
  • Implements a performance improvement program that leads to positive, measurable organizational outcomes based on organizational performance improvement initiatives.
  • Acts as a liaison between physicians, leadership, and teammemberswith timely communication of pertinentinformation to improve
patient care and service on an ongoing manner.
  • Utilize the EHR effectively to create.
  • Embraces, communicates, and promotes effective change.
  • Conductsreview for appropriate utilization ofservices.
  • Ensuresthat necessary data is collected and reviewed in a timely manner and disseminates progress reports, making recommendations for future improvements based on the data.
  • Researches and designs appropriate organization-wide performance improvement education and training to support the goal of providing quality care and service excellence to our patients.
  • Organizes and leads workgroupsto achieve success with ambulatory quality metrics.
  • Participatesin the planning and implementation of new technologies and procedures that support or enhance quality and patient safety activities.
  • Directs coding improvement activitiesfocused on identified provider documentation and coding opportunities.
  • Assistsin leading ambulatory Quality committees and all its activities.
  • Establishes and maintains an open and positive working relationship with providers and the leadership team.
  • Assure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards and agencies.
  • Maintain compliance with OHMG quality and patientsafety policies and procedures.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
  • Knowledge of risk management concepts
  • Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patient rights and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.

Qualifications:

Education/Training
  • Master’s Degree required, MSN, MHA, or MBA preferred.
Licensure/Certification

Maintain current Florida licensure if degree is held in a clinical discipline.

Experience
  • Three (3) years of direct quality strategy experience in healthcare or a similar role, OR
  • Five (5) years of professional work in a hospital or physician group working directly with quality analysis and safety
