Administrative Assistant

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Administrative Assistant in the non-profit sector, based in Norfolk, Virginia. As an Administrative Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for both internal and external customers, handling communication, managing a multi-line phone system, and performing various administrative tasks under supervision and independently.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for internal and external customers
- Handle multi-line phone system and answer inbound calls
- Manage inter-department communication independently and under supervision
- Provide excellent customer service through phone and email correspondence
- Perform data entry tasks and maintain accurate records
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to create reports and use formulas
- Distribute mail and perform time stamps
- Learn and adapt to new software quickly
- Handle purchase orders efficiently
- Use Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word for communication and document creation. • Possess a minimum of one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant.
- Proficient in answering inbound calls and providing exceptional customer service.
- Experience in data entry tasks, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage email correspondence efficiently and professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Word.
- Familiarity with mail distribution processes within an office setting.
- Passionate about working in a non-profit organization and contributing to its mission.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
