Our client, a top services company in the New Haven area, is adding a Staff Accountant to their team due to growth! This role involves a variety of accounting tasks in a dynamic industry setting. As a Staff Accountant, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy of our financial information and contributing to our financial decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

• Accurate processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Completing bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are up to date.
• Management and maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring all entries are correct and up to date.
• Preparation of journal entries as part of the monthly accounting cycle.
• Assisting with month-end close procedures, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
• Assisting in the resolution of any discrepancies or issues relating to the accounts.
• Regular review and monitoring of customer accounts.
• Handling customer inquiries related to their accounts and resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
• Collaborating with the wider finance team on financial reporting and other tasks as needed.

• Open to an entry level accountant with an internship, or 1-3+ years of accounting experience.
• Proficient in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
• Demonstrable experience with Bank Reconciliations.
• Knowledge of General Ledger maintenance and management.
• Knowledge of Journal Entries.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
