We are looking for a professional Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of equipment and trucks at our New Rochelle headquarters.
This position requires the ability to work independently, and in a group setting to accomplish tasks assigned.
To be successful in this role you must be physically and mentally fit and have a strong mechanical aptitude. You should also have knowledge and skills needed to perform basic maintenance and repairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills.Our business experiences seasonal peaks, and as a result, you should be available and willing to work overtime when necessary.
Responsibilities include:
- Work in a shop setting and out in the field, performing repairs to a wide variety of heavy and light trucks and equipment.
- Troubleshoot issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance services as necessary.
- Perform general shop duties as assigned by the fleet manager.
- Drive within the tri-state area as necessary to perform repairs or maintenance in the field.
- Experience working on equipment and road vehicles.
- Understanding of hydraulics systems. Experience with Bucket Trucks, Chippers and Spray equipment is a plus.
- Experience with diagnostic tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
- Comprehend service manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Maintain detailed records of services performed.
- Must provide own basic tool set.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail.
