[ref. b09559316] Philadelphia - Warehouse Associate /Food Sorting & Packing
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on a team, in a temperature-controlled warehouse environment. You will assist with a variety of essential tasks to ensure our operations run smoothly and be an essential part of our nonprofit as we reduce food waste and food insecurity across Philadelphia.
Responsibilities
Inspecting and de-packaging all of the non-edible produce (including food that is bruised, moldy, punctured, etc).Set up, breakdown, and general upkeep of food sorting area.
Supervising and training on-site volunteer produce sorters/depackagers, when applicable.
Packs produce in boxes ready for distribution.
Qualifications
Available 7 am -2 pm M-F.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at one time.
Must have a personal vehicle. Our warehouse is in an industrial area and not accessible via public transportation.
Passionate about community food security and reducing food waste, interested in mission-driven work.
