Lab Technician/Technical Service Representative
This position in Research is linked to the primary interests of the company. Work activities involve engagement with co-workers, customers, agents, contractors, vendors and manufacturer representatives and the use of application equipment as well as laboratory equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-Quality Control - Testing of various incoming raw materials and finished products using appropriate lab procedures. Information is recorded and reported to Research and Plant Management.-Retain samples of raw materials and finished goods, and maintain appropriate inventory and documentation.-Maintain quality control equipment, including calibrations and cleanliness, and recommend new lab equipment.-Assist chemists by helping with product development experiments and reporting.-Technical Service-Respond to technical service inquiries and application problems by conducting evaluations in the lab.-Provide technical assistance in the field by visiting job sites to help customers for start-up inspection or to resolve problems.-Assist the Sales Department by taking phone calls for technical recommendations of products and application procedures.
Secondary:-Prepare and maintain an appropriate inventory of sales samples of various products. Construct special samples for in-house seminars and customer testing. Assist in presentation of agent and customer seminars.-Participate on behalf of the company in pertinent professional and technical associations.-Practice safe procedures for handling materials in the laboratory and plant.-Remain informed of company goals, progress, and challenges by reading appropriate reports.-Keep supervisor advised of results of work performed
