We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Universal Banker in the non-profit sector, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Universal Banker will be responsible for managing consumer loan processes, working with members to meet their financial needs, and promoting our credit union products and services.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the entire consumer loan process from initiation to closing.
  • Conduct interviews with loan applicants and prepare loan applications.
  • Maintain accurate records of member transactions, including share deposit payments, loan payments, and lines of credit transactions.
  • Handle cash and check withdrawals and ensure cash drawers are balanced daily.
  • Open and close accounts as necessary.
  • Act as Vault Teller, balancing ATM transactions daily.
  • Engage in conversations with members to suggest new products and services.
  • Participate in credit union outreach events.
  • Ensure adherence to general regulatory procedures.
  • Utilize various software and systems, including Microsoft Excel and Word for data entry and managing customer records.
  • Answer inbound calls, provide excellent customer service, and handle email correspondence as needed.
  • Schedule appointments and handle order entries when required. • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role or in the banking industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
  • Strong customer service skills, including experience with call center customer service.
  • Capable of answering inbound calls and making outbound calls as part of daily tasks.
  • Demonstrable data entry skills, with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle email correspondence professionally and efficiently.
  • Experience with order entry systems is preferred.
  • Should be able to schedule appointments effectively, balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Must have a strong commitment to the non-profit sector and its values.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Must be committed to ongoing professional development and learning.
