Overview:
This position provides implementation of training to support the strategic objective of mortgage lending with the Credit Union. Responsible to evaluate training request and the development of curriculum to meet expectation and targeted training schedule for onsite, offsite, individual, or virtual settings.Regularly review training content for detail accuracy and to ensure professionalism.
Provides effective leadership to ensure trainers are a resource for all mortgage personnel from Origination to Closing. Conduct monthly one on one meeting with performance evaluation in relation with feedback and expectations. Ensure training functions are completed in accordance with Credit Union Standards and regulations.Conduct mortgage training as required.
Participation in the development, implementation, and evaluation of mortgage projects with department coordinators and team members. Provide universal communication to keep mortgage personnel informed of project or updates. Fulfill other leadership duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Assumes responsibility for development and implementation of effective mortgage
training procedures and programs. Assumes responsibility for the effective
and efficient performance of the Mortgage Training Team. Provides follow-up andsupport to mortgage personnel.
- Monitors, motivate and supports mortgage training staff to ensure high quality work and efficiency in daily operations are maintained.
- Provides leadership to mortgage training personnel.
- Assists in identifying mortgage training and development needs within Credit
- Designs effective agenda and lesson plans for training requests with support materials, guest speakers, PowerPoint presentations, manuals and workbooks.
- Develop and conduct on-site, off-site, individual training or group withsupport as needed.
- Develops and conducts update, review and continuing education training as needed.
- Evaluates mortgage origination, processing and underwriting lending policies,
- Conveys and clarifies policies and procedures and acts as a mortgage resource for previously trained mortgage personnel.
- Ensures consistency in the implementation of mortgage lending policies and procedures throughout mortgage operations.
- Monitors the quality of mortgage lending and makes recommendations for

- Incorporate updated current mortgage lending policies and procedures in accordance
- Schedule and conduct effective quarterly, monthly updates and/or mini courses for all
- Create continuing education requirements for department equivalent with industry
- Monitor and track participants training attendance for reporting purposes and certification.
- Assumes responsibility for maintaining professional working relations with members and mortgage personnel and business contacts. (Realtors, Builders, Brokers)
- Provide support to staff as required.
- Ensure mortgage loan requests are handled in a professional manner and in the best
- Promote proactive sales oriented approach for mortgage and credit union selling skills.
- Maintain and project the Credit Union’s professional reputation.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Participate and /or conduct informative Mortgage related Seminars for members, staff
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Conducts monthly one on ones and performs performance appraisal evaluations for
manager.
- Maintains a Professional high performance level of presentation and training skills.
- Stays current on training programs and standard training procedures.
- Keeps work area clean, well-maintained and secure.d. Performs leadership support functions as required within the department.
Qualifications:
Training/Education/Certification:
- Mortgage and/or Consumer Lending experience 3-5 years’ experience.
- High School Graduate.
- Additional business and financial coursework preferred.
Required Knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge of Credit Union loan services, policies, procedures and regulations.
- Understanding of training and development processes.
- Knowledge of consumer loans, short term real estate loans, mortgage programs and
- Understanding of secondary investor programs, lot, construction, government,
- Understanding of alternative solutions.
- Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and Power Point)
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive mortgage lending experience
- Minimum of 2 years mortgage lending training experience.
- Supervisory experience (minimum of 2 years preferred)
