Role Overview and Responsibilities:

The Senior Quality Manager provides leadership and management of the quality function at the facility, in accordance with all applicable company, customer, and government regulations, policies, and procedures to drive attainment of business objectives.

This role is instrumental for meeting the site’s KPIs, achieving customer outcomes, and ensuring a continuous improvement culture.

Core Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring that quality program policies, plans, standards, metrics, and other requirements are met at the facility.
  • Influences across all plant functions (engineering, manufacturing, commercial, supply chain), customers and suppliers to ensure a culture that embraces quality ownership.
  • Provides people leadership and management for the quality department.
  • Create and deliver quality improvement plans that reduce escapes, scrap costs, and rework hours.
  • Assure quality requirements are adequately defined at all functional levels to permit appropriate quality planning and verification of compliance.
  • Identify, develop, and implement new methods of quality management and systems, and audit existing systems to meet business objectives and other customer requirements.
  • Interface with internal and external customers to provide comprehensive responses and technical assistance regarding quality systems and/or products.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance activities for all purchased material, equipment, parts, and processing.
  • Manage supplier quality audits and corrective action plans.
  • Proactively plan, implement, and track quality systems and processes.
  • Maintain the highest degree of customer service, throughput, quality, cost reduction and people productivity.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to interface with internal and external contacts.
  • Knowledge of and experience in Quality concepts and ISO procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience with statistical improvement methods, and root cause/corrective action development experience.
  • Managerial experience, with demonstrated ability to provide leadership and motivation to employees
  • Effective facilitation and coaching skills.
