The Program Coordinator for the Building Communities of Recovery (BCOR) grant plays a pivotal role in supporting individuals aged 12 and older as they navigate the recovery process across Delaware. This position involves coordinating a wide range of services and resources tailored to the unique needs of both adolescents and adults in recovery.

The Program Coordinator will facilitate access to essential community resources such as food vouchers, housing, employment services, childcare, and comprehensive social services.

In this role, you will oversee the implementation of psycho-educational groups, recovery/care plans, and connect individuals to vital support services, ensuring a holistic approach to recovery. Your work will focus on educating and empowering clients, assisting them in developing strong, sustainable recovery support systems.

This includes promoting self-care, self-awareness, and the lifelong benefits of recovery through structured activities and personalized support.

As a Program Coordinator, you are expected to maintain high professional standards and provide quality, efficient services that align with the goals of the BCOR grant. Your commitment to understanding the evolving challenges faced by young people and adults in recovery will be crucial in fostering an environment conducive to their growth and long-term success.

This is a part-time (20 hours per week) position working Monday through Friday, mostly days, but occasional nights and weekends as needed.

Requirements

General Accountabilities
  • Design, implement, and oversee programs that align with the BCOR grant objectives.
  • Ensure programs are adaptable to meet the evolving needs of participants across different age groups.
  • Facilitate access to essential community resources such as food vouchers, housing, employment services, child care, and comprehensive social services.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with local organizations to enhance service delivery.
  • Conduct psycho-educational groups, workshops, and seminars to educate participants about mindfulness, coping strategies, and the benefits of sustained recovery.
  • Provide one-on-one support to participants, helping them to develop and implement personalized recovery/care plans.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to foster personal growth and self-reliance.
  • Engage in community outreach efforts to raise awareness of the BCOR programs and recruit participants.
  • Advocate for the needs and rights of individuals in recovery, especially addressing challenges specific to younger participants.
  • Monitor program outcomes and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all program activities comply with grant requirements and organizational policies.
  • Work closely with other staff members to coordinate services and share insights.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
  • Collect feedback from participants and adjust programs as needed to improve effectiveness.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in recovery practices and integrate them into program activities.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, business administration, management, or a related field required.
  • Experience in program coordination, preferably within a non-profit or community service setting.

Required Experience

This position is open to individuals who self-identify as being in recovery. Your lived experience and personal understanding of the recovery process are essential in providing authentic support and guidance to those we serve.

Travel Requirements

This position requires frequent travel throughout the state to fulfill job duties. The successful candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation. This role is ideal for someone comfortable with regular driving and capable of managing a flexible schedule based on the needs of our operations and client locations.
