Staff Accountant

We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry in Kalamazoo, Michigan for a Staff Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger and balance sheet accounts, creating and entering journal entries, processing incoming payments, and assisting with cash forecasting and daily cash management.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the commercial card program including the issuance of credit cards, limit assignment, and termination of cards.
• Assist in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
• Create and enter journal entries related to monthly business activities with appropriate documentation for backup.
• Process incoming payments by check, credit card, and EFT.
• Provide backup support for payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Record and reconcile all ledger transactions in Representative Payee Manager and other software.
• Perform internal audit of processes, procedures, and practices of the Finance Department.
• Assist with cash forecasting and daily cash management.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all restricted information, data, and reports.
• Complete all other tasks as assigned by the CFO or the CEO. • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant in the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry.
• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Expertise in performing Bank Reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge and experience in maintaining and updating the General Ledger.
• Capability to prepare and review Journal Entries as part of the financial management process.
• Experience in conducting Month End Close procedures to finalize accounting records.
