My client is a well-established for-profit organization looking for someone coming out of public accounting to join their team as a Staff Accountant in Washington DC. The ideal candidate for the Staff Accountant role will be responsible for preparing the financial statements, maintaining the general ledger accounts, reconciling bank statements, assisting with month end close, performing journal entries and assisting with other projects.

Daily responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include:

  • Perform month-end close.
  • General ledger maintenance.
  • Reconcile bank statements.
  • Prepare financial statements.
  • Post various journal entries.

The ideal Staff Accountant we seek must have the following qualifications for consideration:

  • 1-2+ years of public accounting experience.
  • CPA or pursuing CPA licensure.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Excel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
