Embedded 911 Response Behavioral Health Specialist
Crisis/Triage Clinicians work in a call center and all interactions with clients are by telephone.
This is a time-limited position in support of a pilot program and is contractual.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides crisis intervention, suicide prevention and brief supportive counseling to callers who are in emotional distress.Provides professional assessments to determine if a face-to-face/telehealth behavioral health evaluation is needed.
Contacts and dispatches appropriate teams to conduct the needed assessments.
Conducts assessments of clients per regional and program policies and procedures.
Manages interactions with clients to ensure that the appropriate level of support is provided.
Documents client interactions.
Utilizes the telephone to interact with clients and members of the community.
Provides professional assessments and consultations.
Attends staff meetings.
Completes Utilization Management initial certification assessments.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of the DWIHN provider network.
Knowledge of medical and behavioral health practices and terminology.
Knowledge of utilization management.
Knowledge of mental health clinical standards and protocols.
Knowledge of balancing pace and flow of conversation and call time.

Required Education:
A Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, the Human Services, the Social Services or a related field.
Required Experience: One year of experience in a healthcare contact center or in mental health counseling.
Preferred Experience/License:
Crisis intervention and/or mental health information and referral services experience a plus.Qualified Mental Health Professional a plus.
Substance Use Disorders Professional a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employees in this classification must travel throughout Wayne County and work on-site at various law enforcement facilities and provider sites.
