Background
Join our dynamic Engineering and Construction Practice as we deliver expertise across architectural, civil, and structural engineering, forensic analysis, construction management, and litigation support. We work closely with clients from the construction, legal, and insurance sectors to assess and mitigate risks throughout a project's lifecycle.Whether through initial design, forensic investigations, or redesign, we focus on minimizing construction defects that could lead to litigation.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management & Assessments: Conduct independent and team-led structural assessments, design compliance reports, and building envelope investigations for both commercial and residential buildings.
- Client Relationship Ownership: Lead client communications, ensuring project timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met efficiently.
- Technical Expertise: Apply advanced knowledge in structural and/or building envelope investigations to independently assess single-family homes, residential developments, and commercial buildings.
- Team Leadership: Act as a mentor and lead across multiple projects (5-10), coordinating tasks, educating team members, and providing clear communication with clients.
- Evaluation & Reporting: Oversee evaluations, site inspections, design analyses, and write detailed reports.
- Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve project challenges while effectively communicating technical concepts to both expert and Client audiences.
- Time & Deadline Management: Work independently, managing deadlines and prioritizing tasks across multiple projects.
Requirements
Skills & Experience- Education: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
- Experience: 5-10 years in engineering and construction administration, with direct experience in forensic engineering (structural, building envelope).
- Licensing: Professional Engineering (PE) license in one or more states is required.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of structural engineering and building envelope systems. Experience in structural assessments, compliance reports, and building envelope investigations is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Ability to present findings to clients, testify in court, and lead technical discussions with varied audiences.
- Ability to perform tasks in elevated or confined conditions.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and sitting for extended periods during design and reporting tasks.
