Financial Analyst II-Hybrid
Overview:
The Financial Analyst II participates in financial analyses and assistance with projects including/related to asset liability management (ALM) modeling and reporting, ad hoc modeling and financial analyses, budget variance analysis and budget planning, product and branch profitability, and profitability analyses of existing and potential new products and services.
Responsibilities:
- Participates in the preparation of financial reports including ALCO (Asset Liability Committee), ALM and ad-hoc reports.
- Participates in the preparation and documentation of studies, reports, and analyses in the areas of ALM, forecasting, budget and planning, branch and product profitability, channel and member profitability, new branch/ business planning and variance analysis.
- Reviews analyses produced and makes recommendations to management.
- Performs ad-hoc analysis/data mining on large member datasets to assist in strategic decision-making.
- Formulates recommendations for proposal to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies. Makes recommendations to management regarding pricing for various products and services.
- Creates and maintains desktop procedures for financial modeling systems and critical tasks.
- Works with supervisor or management to conduct special studies and surveys to summarize and analyze potential financial decisions and prepares recommendations for policy, pricing, profitability, process, control, and/or action.
- Calculates Credit Union/Banking key metrics and ratios.
- Participates in cost studies, accounting studies and cost and earnings contributions analyses of all services, functions and departments of the credit union.
- Participates and contributes in Credit Union ALCO committee meetings.
- May represent finance management in meetings with internal and external organizations to find solutions and implement new methods or processes.
- Performs cash management activities, including monitoring of activity and lookback testing.
- Supports investment portfolio activities, such as maintaining appropriate documentation over trades, creating investment portfolio reports for ALCO/Board, and monitoring the portfolio for other-than- temporary impairment and regulatory requirements.
- Work within their own team and have a direct impact on themselves and their direct processes.
Qualifications:
Education- Min/Preferred:
- Education Level: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree
- Description: Must have a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in finance, economics, mathematics, or other quantitative discipline from a four-year college or university
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2
- Preferred Years of Experience: 4
- Comments: At least 2-4 years of applicable financial/analytical experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Working knowledge of financial and accounting theory, principles and practices as would normally be obtained through a bachelor’s degree program in finance or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of asset/liability management and investments, budgets, cost accounting, and other financial analysis.
- Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills to effectively work with internal customers.
- Experience with analytical tools such as Tableau or R Studio, and a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge, understanding, or experience calculating and interpreting credit union/banking key metrics, ratios and trends.
- Experience analyzing large member/customer datasets and the ability to assess trends and draw conclusions from them.
- Ability to interpret financial and general ledger data.
- Attention to detail and deadline oriented with the ability to work within tight deadlines.
- Understanding and experience with ALM software preferred, but not required.
- Use existing tools/processes to solve tasks/issues assigned to them.

Pay Range: USD $75,543.20 - USD $113,314.80 /Yr.
