Lineworker

This role will also involve responding to emergency outages and undertaking special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Operate equipment such as bucket trucks, digger trucks, backhoes, and wire/cable pulling equipment.
• Ascend poles and use aerial lift equipment safely and efficiently.
• Use electrical testing/diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Interpret system maps and records to support line operations.
• Work safely in confined underground spaces and handle energized electrical equipment.
• Direct lower-level line workers when working with high voltage lines.
• Ensure all tasks comply with established safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with colleagues in other departments to facilitate line construction and repair activities.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles, ensuring they are in proper working order.
• Respond to emergency outages after-hours to restore power and repair electrical infrastructure.
• Undertake special projects as assigned. • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cable Technician
• Proficient in working with electrical systems
• Experience with high voltage systems
• Must possess a strong understanding of electrical principles
• Capable of troubleshooting and repairing cable systems
• Ability to work safely in various environments, including high locations and confined spaces
• Must be able to read and understand technical diagrams and manuals
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work in different shifts and during weekends if required
• Proven record of reliability and punctuality
• High school diploma or equivalent is a requirement, higher technical education is a plus
• Must have a driver's license and reliable transportation.
