6 Towers is a 22-bed vascular thoracic unit caring for post-op thoracic, vascular, and cardiac procedure surgical patients.

Job Summary
The Clinical Nurse Manager will have responsibility for the overall operations of the nursing unit to include financial performance, service quality, clinical outcomes, quality improvement, employee satisfaction, and patient satisfaction. The Clinical Manager of the Nursing Department will have direct reporting responsibility to a designated Nursing Director.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Supervises assigned professional, technical, and clerical staff of the department to ensure the quality of work.
- Manages the workflow of the unit to ensure the delivery of quality patient care.
- Implements and supports quality improvement activities for the department.
- Develops staffing patterns and ensures availability of sufficient qualified staff to meet patient care needs.
- Works to develop and retain highly skilled and well-rounded staff including hiring, orienting, training, directing work, evaluating performance and assuring clinical competency.
- Contributes to the effective management of the department including supplies, equipment, space, technology, policies and procedures
- Contributes to the financial viability of the organization including managing productivity and budgeting process.
- Maintains effective working relationships, communication and collaborative decision making with medical staff, other departments, leaders, staff and others.
- Assists the organization in maintaining and achieving its goals related to licensure, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
- Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence.
- Responsible for accurate and timely delivery of various reports including staff schedules, payroll, labor productivity, IRIS and others as assigned.
- Participates in community activities on behalf of the organization.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications- Licensed or eligible for RN license in Kentucky
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Bachelor's of Nursing degree from accredited college or University
- Internal Candidates: At least four (4) years of experience in an acute care setting, preferably an academic medical center. Prior management experience a plus.
- External candidates: At least five (5) years of experience in an acute care setting, preferably an academic medical center. Prior management experience a plus.
- Master's of Nursing degree. Other Master’s degrees, such as business or healthcare administration, will be considered.
- Professional certification in either a leadership or clinical specialty area strongly recommended. If certification not present on hire, it is to be obtained within 3 years of hire into position.
