Intelligent Waves is seeking an Air Force Business Development Leader for our Corporate Growth Organization. This key role is focused on expanding IW’s footprint with technology-centered solutions within the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security, cybersecurity, and communications markets.This candidate will leverage their experience in Business Development, Capture and Proposal activities to create and prosecute a pipeline of opportunities to drive corporate growth goals.
Location & Travel: This will be a Hybrid role based in Reston, VA with the ability to attend on-site meetings as needed.
Security Clearance: The Air Force Business Development Leader must be a United States Citizen and hold a current DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
Employees are required to follow all company and customer site COVID-19 protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Grow the opportunity pipeline, to include existing Air Force as well as adjacent markets/customers, through diligent and timely identification/qualification of new business opportunities.
- Partner with the Leadership to refine the division strategy and shape a balanced portfolio.
- Lead and participate in the identification, qualification, and pursuit of strategic business opportunities.
- Assign and optimize BD and capture resources amongst competing priorities.
- Drive collaboration across the organization to bring best-in-class solutions to the customer and maximize win probability.
- Seek and utilize market intelligence and competitor data to position the division for ensuring success.
- Build Strategies that respond to changes in government priorities, budgets and requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government decision-makers, contracting office and key stakeholders.
- Conduct customer visits and articulate current and emerging customer needs and requirements.
- Actively participate in capture activities, to include opportunity gate reviews, black hat sessions, collaboration and workshop sessions, proposal reviews, and business-case development
- Drive the development and submission of white papers and RFI responses to proactively shape strategic opportunities.
- Develop marketing and B&P budgets and execute BD plans within those approved budgets.
- Own and conduct monthly detailed pipeline reviews with Senior leadership.
- Attend tradeshows and execute customer call plans post-tradeshows.
- Documents all business development activity and meetings in Salesforce.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in business development, capture management and proposal response specifically within the DoD services, cybersecurity, and communications markets.
- Hands-on experience leading federal business identification and capture of deals ranging from Task Orders of $5M-10M, to Full and Open deals of $50M+ as well as set-aside and JV-based deals.
- Demonstrable win rate over the last 3-5 years.
- Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of related experience selling services/business development is a strong desire.
- Strong expertise with relationship-building, contract mechanism usage, and proposal management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams across different functional areas.
- Proficient in Salesforce CRM tools
- Ability to travel for prospect/client meetings, conferences, tradeshows, symposia
- Must be a US Citizen
- Clearance: DoD Secret Clearance
