Customer Service Representative

We are in search of a Customer Service Representative to join our team in the Parsippany, New Jersey area. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity in the industry. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be at the forefront of maintaining customer satisfaction by ensuring the accuracy of customer orders and resolving any issues that arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently and accurately handle customer credit applications
  • Keep customer credit records up-to-date and precise
  • Respond to and resolve customer inquiries and complaints in a timely manner
  • Review and process customer purchase orders in accordance with established procedures
  • Confirm order details with customers within 24 hours of receipt
  • Communicate actively with both new and existing customers regarding pricing, lead times, and any changes or requests
  • Collaborate with the Logistics Team to gather and verify shipping information before directing an order to the appropriate warehouse
  • Monitor open orders and shipments and notify customers proactively of any updates or issues related to their orders
  • Work proactively with clients to understand their forecasts and future requirements to assist in planning shipments
  • Ensure all order details, including pricing and quantity, are accurate before releasing an order
  • Proficiency in Order Entry is required, as the role involves processing customer orders.
  • Familiarity with Sage 100 is necessary, as the software is used extensively for business management.
  • Experience with Shipping Documentation is essential, as the role involves preparing and managing shipping documents.
  • Excellent communication skills, as the role involves direct contact with customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, as the role requires multitasking between various customer service tasks.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, as the role involves meticulous record-keeping and order tracking.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, as the role may involve handling customer complaints and resolving issues.
  • Proficiency in Office Suite, especially Excel, as the role involves managing and organizing data.
  • Flexibility in working hours, as the role may require shift work or overtime.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, higher education or certifications in related fields will be considered an asset.
