General Summary:
Performs duties requiring expert ability in performing difficult repair, alteration, and modernization painting projects. Matches paint and stain colors to color books, restores woodwork, applies various specialized coatings, applies oil and latex caulk in interior and exterior situations, operates power washing equipment, performs minor and major drywall and plaster repairs, uses spray equipment, sprays latex and alkyd materials and schedules work with clients.Is responsible for determining the skills required and estimating the employees hours, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to accomplish the work. Recognizes and evaluates difficult and/or complex problems that arise during the course of a project and takes appropriate remedial actions.
Is expected to recognize occupational hazards associated with painting projects and to exercise appropriate safety measures. Assists supervisors in making facility inspections to determine painting necessary to buildings and equipment. Advises and recommends to higher level maintenance employees procedures required to correct difficult painting situations.
Utilizes current countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development Test.
- Have had at least four (4) years of full-time work experience involving the use of painting skills.
- Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license.
- Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.
- Successfully complete the six month probationary period.
Special Requirements:
Must maintain a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.
Pay Range: USD $51,925.00 - USD $67,573.00 /Yr.
