Mid-to-Senior Software Developer

Overview:

In this role, you will participate in a team environment in designing, developing, and implementing innovative software solutions that address both Kill Chain Automation and Weapons Autonomy. You will be a technical expert, collaborating closely with other developers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software that meets our customer's needs.

You will participate in all necessary technical meetings, code reviews, development discussions and testing events and will follow government standard operating procedures for code formatting, development methodology, and coding configuration and management tasks.

Clearance:

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional experience developing software applications
  • Proven experience C++ and C#, with knowledge of Python
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Experience in Windows and Linux/Unix development
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
  • Implement software functionalities according to specified requirements
  • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code

Technical Expertise:

  • Possess a deep understanding of software development principles and best practices
  • Demonstrate proficiency in C++, C#, Python, and FlatBuffers
  • Demonstrate knowledge or understanding in C#/.Net Data Distribution Service (DDS)
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate effectively with other developer, designers, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely
  • Participate actively in code reviews, design discussions, and technical meetings

Problem Solving:

  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex software issues
  • Develop creative and innovative solutions to technical challenges
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions

Quality Assurance:

  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and functionality
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality standards
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated testing frameworks

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Education:

A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline is required.

Compensation:

Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $92,000 - $165,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
