Your responsibilities will also include creating efficiencies, promoting accuracy, reliability, timeliness, and compliance with policies.

• Serve as the primary contact for payroll and accounts payable, managing complex processes and special projects in coordination with internal departments.
• Oversee weekly accounts payable processing and disbursements, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Supervise and oversee the functions and duties of the Payroll Accountant and the Accounts Payable team.
• Regularly process hourly and salary payroll, managing complex payroll processes.
• Prepare and manage regular reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports related to gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, and benefit deductions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper processing of invoices.
• Reconcile monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports for federal and state labor and tax requirements.
• Provide guidance to management on new IRS, and Department of Treasury tax and withholdings laws and regulations.
• Review and approve all payroll payments and manual calculations for all payrolls.
• Assist with month-end closing and management reports, preparing monthly/quarterly journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
• Support financial and benefit plan audits.
• Create efficiencies through regular process reviews.
• Support ERP review and implementation/updates.
• Use Accounting Software Systems, ADP
• Financial Services, BlackLine, Concur, ERP
• Enterprise Resource Planning tools for managing accounting functions.
• Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting managerial or supervisory role within the import/export industry
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is required
• Familiarity with BlackLine, Concur and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is a plus
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential
• Proficiency in auditing and billing functions
• Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field is required
• Professional accounting certification, such as CPA or CMA, is preferred.
