About Our Client

This will be an individual contributor role and you will work closely with the parent company.

• Initiate, implement, and manage environmental engineering programs within the plant.
• Investigate environmental issues thoroughly and recommend corrective actions.
• Propose and specify equipment to resolve environmental challenges.
• Ensure new process equipment meets engineering standards and is properly installed.
• Monitor plant compliance with regulatory permits.
• Ensure the plant's wastewater treatment operations meet all regulatory requirements.
• Provide annual environmental awareness training for plant personnel.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies during audits and assist with permit negotiations.
• Maintain strong relationships with local government to promote a positive corporate image.
• Plan and coordinate safety training programs and recommend safety incentives and awards.
• Act as the Workers' Compensation Coordinator, working with insurers to provide timely compensation and medical care for injured employees, and represent the company in related legal proceedings.
• Lead monthly safety inspections to identify and correct potential hazards.
• Investigate injuries, near misses, and property damage incidents to determine root causes.
• Develop and implement safety-related policies and procedures.
• Serve as Chairman of the Safety Committee.
• Manage the contractor safety program, including conducting periodic inspections and addressing violations.
• Perform safety analyses on specific jobs as needed.
• Oversee the ordering, maintenance, and distribution of personal safety equipment, ensuring proper records are kept.

• Required: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to lead and manage EHS programs and teams.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with EHS management software.

• Competetive Salary of $90,000-$125,000 depending on experience
