Responsibilities:
Provides direct patient care and supportive services to patients with mental health disorders as well as chemically dependent patients to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients. Carries out a variety of patient care activities which support the maintenance of the therapeutic milieu and which meet the patient's needs for comfort and safety.For ED only: In addition to the listed duties and responsibilities, is deemed competent to perform the duties and responsibilities listed in the Emergency Department Technician I (JCC 914) job description.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other behavioral health related fields, with 1 year of experience in the behavioral health field
- OR, Associates Degree and 3 years’ experience in inpatient setting,
- OR 5 years of experience in inpatient psychiatric settings
- BLS/CPR certification
Preferred:
- Direct patient care experience preferably in a hospital or inpatient mental health facility preferred.
