SQL Database Developer - Oak Brook

The ideal candidate should have strong experience with SQL, database design, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Development: Design, develop, and implement SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support business applications and reporting systems.
• Database Optimization: Analyze and optimize database performance, ensuring queries and reports are efficient and scalable.
• Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources into databases, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Data Management: Maintain data integrity and ensure the security of databases and sensitive information.
• Troubleshooting & Debugging: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other teams (development, business analysts, QA) to define and implement data requirements for business solutions.
• Documentation: Document database designs, procedures, and standards to ensure knowledge sharing and system integrity.
• Reporting & Analytics: Assist in the creation of reports and data visualizations to meet business needs using SQL or other BI tools.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience:
• years of experience in SQL development and database management.
• Experience with database systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.
• Strong knowledge of database architecture, indexing, normalization, and relational database principles.
• Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience with ETL processes and data integration is a bonus.
• Skills:
• Proficient in SQL scripting and query optimization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with version control tools (Git, SVN, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of cloud-based databases (Azure, AWS, etc.) is a plus.
• Understanding of data warehousing and reporting best practices.
