Responsibilities:
Works under the direction of the Director of Therapy Services and/or the Supervisor of Therapy Services. The Licensed Therapist Assistant (LPTA) provides direct patient care, as directed by the evaluating Physical Therapist to all those patients referred for PT at Leesburg Regional Medical Center, Leesburg Rehabilitation Hospital and The Villages Regional Hospital.The LPTA participates in all team conferences, staff meetings and any other appropriate meetings deemed necessary by the specific unit. The LPTA is able to interact on a professional basis with all Alliance Therapy Team members and is able to understand and react effectively to the unique needs of patients in reference to specific age groups.
The LPTA demonstrates competency to care for patients in accordance with discipline specific therapy standards as defined by the Florida Dept. of Health Board of PT. The LPTA provides instruction and assistance to all Alliance Therapy Team members and acts in compliance with the ethical conduct of the organization at all times.
