The role involves managing employee relations, overseeing recruitment and selection, coordinating training and development, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.Together, the Plant HR Manager business partner, the Snr. Plant Manager & plant management leadership team will work to achieve business objectives, foster a positive and inclusive work environment, and drive organizational performance.

What are the Key Deliverables in this role ?
Financial Outcomes- Partner with the finance department to manage the HR budget, ensuring cost-effective HR practices.
- Monitor and analyze HR metrics to identify trends and make data-driven decisions that support the plant’s financial performance.
- Optimize workforce planning & productivity to ensure the right staffing levels that balance operational efficiency and labor costs.
- Provide exceptional HR support and guidance to plant employees and management.
- Manage Relationship and Collective Bargaining Agreement with Union.
- Address employee concerns and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with plant employees to foster a supportive work environment.
- Ensure HR services are delivered in a customer-centric manner, with a focus on meeting the needs of internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support plant operations and achieve business objectives.
- Timely development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Oversee the recruitment and selection process to ensure a consistent and fair approach to hiring.
- Manage employee records and HR documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Conduct regular audits of HR processes to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the plant.
- Identify and implement best practices to enhance employee experience, engagement and productivity.
- Develop and deliver training and development programs to support employee growth and career advancement.
- Promote a learning culture by encouraging employees to take advantage of training opportunities and career development resources.
- Stay current with HR trends and innovations to ensure the plant remains competitive in attracting and retaining top talent.
- Lead and develop onsite People resource to ensure they have competence and capability to deliver the requirements of their role.
Requirements
What are the Critical success factors for the Role ?- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR management, in a manufacturing or plant environment, ideally unionized
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, MD & Federal employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead and manage HR initiatives and projects.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
Working Environment:
- This position is primarily based in a plant environment with frequent interaction with plant employees and management.
- Occasional travel may be required for training, meetings, and other business-related activities.
