Marine Fire Service Technician
We are looking for a marine mechanic, or marine mechanic apprentice who is willing to go the extra mile and willing to learn from the experts we already have onboard. You must love to use tools! Responsibilities:
- Inspect, maintain, and repair marine fire, safety, and rescue equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, SCBAs, gas detectors).
- Work directly with ships' superintendents, officers, and crew during inspections.
- Maintain workshop tools and equipment.
- Prepare certification paperwork and follow maritime safety regulations.
- Provide technical assistance and complete projects onboard and in the shop.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience with marine fire and safety equipment.
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations, electrical circuits, and mechanical piping.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in ship/rig environments.
- High school diploma (technical training preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain TWIC card.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Schedule:
- 8–10 hour shifts, Monday to Friday
- Overtime and weekend work as needed

Responsibilities
