IT Support Specialist

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an IT Support Specialist in the insurance industry, located in UNIONDALE, New York. As an IT Support Specialist, you will act as the primary contact for resolving hardware and software issues, manage IT inventory, and maintain system security and integrity.
You will also provide support for employees using insurance and financial applications, handle onboarding and offboarding processes, and stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and best practices.
Responsibilities:- Act as the primary contact for resolving hardware and software issues for both in-office and remote users.
- Manage and troubleshoot issues related to business software, hardware, and networking systems.
- Assist in the setup and optimization of video conferencing for internal and external meetings.
- Address cloud connectivity issues, particularly with AWS.
- Manage IT inventory and asset management.
- Maintain IT system security and integrity through anti-malware software updates, system patches, and implementing security best practices.
- Provide support for employees using insurance and financial applications.
- Handle employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades to meet company growth goals and requirements.
- Provide training and support to employees on IT solutions, policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and best practices to ensure our systems are current and secure.
- Manage user accounts across multiple applications such as Active Directory and Exchange. • Proficient in Cisco Technologies
- Knowledgeable in Citrix Technologies
- Familiarity with Computer Hardware
- Understanding of Database management
- Experience with Dell Technologies
- Proficiency in Active Directory
- Ability to work with Apple Devices
- Skilled in Backup Technologies
- Experience in Configuration Management
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- Proven experience in a similar role within the Insurance industry
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Knowledge of industry best practices and trends
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
