Role Overview
Reporting to the Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis, and working closely with the Executive Team, the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for leading and evolving the FP&A function for the Company. This role will lead and shape the FP&A function, helping to guide the company's growth.As a trusted business partner to senior leadership and across departments, this role is key in supporting the business’s rapid expansion. The Director will oversee financial planning, budgeting, re-forecasting, strategic planning, and management reporting.
Additionally, they will prepare data-driven analytics, support corporate development efforts, and provide valuable insights to influence key business decisions.
What will you be doing?- Developing a scalable FP&A infrastructure that will support the evolution/ growth of the business – acquisitions (domestic and international), business units & segments, product verticals, project tracking/evaluation, corporate cost allocation & transfer pricing, etc.
- Enhancement of Management Reporting capability by growing the function’s competencies in business unit, product-level, and Board packages and insights.
- Direct oversight of the Business Unit & Cost Centre Segment Analysis, Project Planning, Key Performance Indicators, and other related analysis.
- Support of the Corporate Development function, including M&A activity, New Business Venture and deal analysis, Research, Investor Relations, Equity Research, Rating Agency enquiries, and Strategic Planning.
- Be viewed as a trusted advisor by the business unit leadership and senior executive and provide timely and valued support.
- Provide strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth.
- 7 + years of relevant corporate finance experience with at least 2-5 years in a senior management role.
- University Degree (Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline); an MBA or CPA designation would be desirable.
- Successfully held a similar role with another high-growth organization. Consumer finance/lending OR financial services experience is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience working in a dynamic environment with the aptitude to support and integrate key processes with other areas of finance (Controllership, Treasury, Corporate Development, etc.).
- Highly analytical and thorough – ensuring that financial insights are effectively communicated to business partners to drive improved business results.
- Hands-on experience having analyzed and supported management reporting and analytics.
- Strong people management and coaching skills. An “eye for talent” and a desire to build and retain a high-performing team.
- A strong and organized leader who can effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial audiences succinctly, clearly and concisely.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines and company goals.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deliverables while building relationships with colleagues.
